Many European countries have imposed road traffic restrictions, which vary from temporary to permanent and affect small areas as well as whole cities, regions, and may even be nationwide. For example, traffic is restricted during school holidays in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Poland and the Czech Republic.
